TORONTO
While the feeding-frenzy of outrage and indignance about the Liberal's HRDC job-grant boondoggle is well-founded, there is a danger of missing even more scandalous misuses of taxpayers money in the storm. At least most of these job-grants went to large corporations and organizations that have the best interests of society at heart. We can be confident they put it to good use preserving the Canadian way-- such as increasing their profit margins and grooming model low-wage service employees.
Meanwhile, a sinister two-faced monster has reared its ugly head in Canada. Every day our television screens are bombarded with images of unruly and illegal demonstrations-- homeless vagrants soiling the steps of the Parliament buildings, revolting students trampling on the dignity of visiting dignitaries, unemployed thugs vandalising their former workplaces (which their insane wage demands sent packing to Mexico), and, of course, the repellent rioting rabble in Seattle and Washington.
What many people do not realise and soft-left media outlets fail to point out often enough, is that most of these professional protesters are subsidized by law-abiding, tax-paying Canadians through "anti"-social assistance. Right thinking people across this country should be doubly-repulsed by the disgusting spectacle of people who espouse the destruction of our society out of one side of their mouth while they gorge themselves at the government trough with the other .
It is bad enough that the industrious taxpayer has to support the unproductive dross at the bottom end of society, but at least the recipients should have the grace to appreciate the helping-hand of their betters. They must understand that what's left of the social safety net is there to give them a kick-start toward being useful members of society once again.
But the eco-traitors and antisocialists view welfare not as opportunity to pull themselves up by their bootstraps but as a government wage for life that they have earned as civil disservants. Believe it or not, despite their revolting attitudes and activities, they still have to be actually caught in the act of fraud in order to be sent packing to Social Assistance Siberia.
The current media fetish is with the bedraggled street-scum that wantonly assault, kidnap and besiege delegates and police at world economic conferences in a vain attempt to hijack global economic policy for their depraved, totalitarian socialist agenda. Among this unholy alliance of eco-hoodlums, labour-goons and student-barbarians, a large Canadian contingent is aided and abetted in their spiteful felonies by our government's largesse.
Perhaps the most strident example is the egregious double-dipping of the APEC protesters. First they conspired to traitorously damage our international trading relationships and they shamelessly fund their criminal acts (and their so-called studies at Anarchy U) by collecting welfare and student grants. Then, when they receive a well-deserved dose of reality-affirming pepper spray, they whine that normal Canadians must squander millions of dollars more on their anti-authoritarian witchhunt at the RCMP complaints commission.
It's not enough that we had to watch the grotesque grandstanding and witless protest signs of these selfish swine at APEC. Now we are forced to endure years of them parading their government-subsidized bad haircuts on television in a kangaroo-court-room farce (that we're paying for) and listen to their anarcho-babble pronouncements about constitutional rights to the closeted left-wing CBC media-whores who suck up to them with premature email ejaculations.
After years of society-abuse by these professional protesters, it is small comfort that every provincial government from Tory to NDP has slashed anti-social assistance rates. It's more than high time to introduce allegiance-testing in addition to the current means-testing as a prerequisite for welfare. In order to receive their cheque each month, recipients should have to sign a pledge not to engage in any anti-social, anti-government, anti-corporate, anti-progress or anti-pro-life protests, demonstrations, strikes, marches, rallies or meetings.
Cynical observers of these sourpuss subversives may scoff at this as a window-dressing exercise, but at least the remittance revolutionaries might think twice before assuming they have a divine right to the dole.
A corollary measure could put some teeth in this paper tiger-- require all government assistance recipients to wear a large red W on their clothing at all times. Any gravy-train grumblers will stand out in a crowd and can be easily identified on surveillance cameras. No doubt most of them will meekly miss the demonstration rather than risk losing their government cheque.
