VANCOUVER • With the near-disastrous court case which accused them of fraudulently using claims of a balanced budget to steal the 1997 provincial election still ringing in their ears, the BC NDP government clowns have been caught with their fiscal pants down again.

Ten straight years of deficit budgets in BC-- while the rest of the country was getting its financial house in order-- have created the wide-spread, justified impression that BC's socialists have a pathological/ideological inability to add up a column of figures, even if their life depended on it. The recent revelation that last year's final numbers are 180 degrees from their most optimistic projections are the icing on the cake, or the final nail in the coffin.

When the scandal-ridden NDP brought down their 1999 BC budget promising a $1.2 billion dollar deficit, media pundits rolled their eyes and let out a collective groan, assuming the real numbers would be much worse.

The infamous 1997 budget revenue projections which spawned that righteous court action were hundreds of millions off the mark, but that is chump change compared to 1999. The insolvent socialists have been forced to admit that their revenue projections for last year were off by more than 2.5 BILLION DOLLARS.

This combined with out-of-control over-the-top spending has meant that the NDP's lying-through-their-teeth deficit projections couldn't be further from the truth. It's an outrageous slap-in-the-face to decent citizens and long-suffering taxpayers (who deserve at least a shred of credibility from their government) that a projected $1.2 billion deficit has become, presto-change-o, a $50 million surplus!

Some may believe that one budget flub-it revenue projection could be bad luck, perhaps two might be convenient congenital stupidity, but three-strikes-in-a-row stinks sensationally of a criminal communist conspiracy. There's something rotten in the NDP totalitarian state of dumb-marx and it's time to flush them or cut red-bait.
